Outreach Actions

Learn how to take action with Outreach sales engagement

To use Outreach actions you will need to have already integrated your Pocus workspace with your Outreach account. If you have not done this, you can do so by following the steps in this article.

Pocus and Outreach

Pocus's integration with Outreach is oriented around ensuring the high-value contacts that are surfaced to you can be conveniently added to your current email cadence.

To add an Outreach action, first access the Workspace settings. Then, select the object for this new action (generally User) and navigate to the object's Actions tab. Once clicking Add an action you will have two Outreach actions available.

Open in Outreach

When invoked, the Open in Outreach action will open the relevant Prospect's page in Outreach in an additional tab in your browser. If the Prospect doesn't already exist in Outreach, Pocus will create a new Prospect.

Configuring Open in Outreach

1️⃣Prospect Email Field is the only required field to create a new Prospect in Outreach. It can be helpful to add additional fields to sync, particularly if lots of sequences leverage those fields as template variables in Outreach.

The most common fields (2️⃣) are included in the form by default.

You can also sync additional and custom Outreach fields by clicking Add New + and completing the field mapping (3️⃣). On the left-hand side, type or select the data point you want to pass to Outreach. On the right-hand side, type the name of field in Outreach (e.g., custom22).

Note: You will want to use the internal Outreach API name for the field name you are passing into. Outreach custom fields typically have an internal API name in the format of 'customXX'. For example, if you are looking to pass into 'Custom Field 2', you would enter the internal Outreach API name of 'custom2' as the Outreach field name.

Enroll in Outreach

The enroll in Outreach action adds a user to a selected Outreach sequence straight from Pocus. If the user doesn't exist as a Prospect, Pocus will create a new Prospect in Outreach, and then enroll them in the sequence.

Configuring Open in Outreach

Because Pocus may be creating a Prospect in Outreach, the settings are very similar to the Open in Outreach configuration detailed above. There are two additional options.

1️⃣ Default Outreach Sequence: Select a default sequence from Outreach to be used when this action is used in an Automation. This will also be the pre-selected sequence for reps when they click this action button. Reps always have the ability to override and select a different sequence when taking action if desired.

2️⃣ Default Mailbox Email: If you will use this action in an Automation, indicate from whose email the Outreach sequences should be sent. Enter a static email to always send from one specific mailbox or use a data point (i.e., Owner Email) to dynamically send from the contact's owner.
